Senta and Maurice are lab partners in science class.  Today they have to weigh liquid.  They have a tray of 80 weights which they can use.  The weights are of 4 different kinds:  50g, 25g, 15g, and 5g.  The first liquid weighs 85g.  How many different combinations of weights will balance the scale for the first liquid?

It's here!  The hottest item of the season, Rodney the Talking Robot!  Rodney can keep anyone company, including the cat or dog.  When the robots are made at the robot factory, every 8th robot gets a blue control panel, every 3rd gets green blinking eyes, and 4th gets a square head.  If 150 robots are made, how many will have a blue control panel, with blinking eyes, and a square head?

Problem of The Week: Due Friday, August 20

A mother and her son are working in a field in India.  A tiger leaps out of the long grasses and pins the boy to the ground with his claws.  "Let him go!" cries the woman.  "I will," says the tiger, "provided you can correctly predict the fate of your child- either that I eat him or that I let him go."  What should the woman predict?  Explain your reasoning.  (5 points)
